What does "No Log" mean?

VyprVPN’s "No Log" policy means absolutely no VPN sessions are associated with individual users, that the online activity of our users is completely anonymous, and no personally identifiable information is collected or associated with VPN connections. This means we don’t keep logs of IP addresses, VPN sessions, time logs, website visits or any online activity while using VyprVPN.

Since VyprVPN is based in Switzerland, we are not required to collect any personally identifiable information of the users on our network. That means when using VyprVPN you can rest assured that your online activity isn’t being tracked, monitored, recorded, or exposed to third parties without legal permission.

Furthermore, we offer features such as our zero-knowledge VyprDNS and our proprietary Chameleon VPN protocol as advanced privacy solutions.

Which platforms are "No Log" certified?

VyprVPN is now officially a "No Log" VPN for all platforms. Updates for Windows, Mac, and Android apps were rolled out November 27, 2018, while updates for iOS were rolled out December 10, 2018.

For our Tomato Router app, Linux CLI app, and QNAP NAS app, although absolutely no personally-identifiable information is associated with the VPN connections from these apps, we have outstanding updates to ensure that our analytics solution is not collecting information relative to a user’s geographic region.

What information is retained within VyprVPN server logs?

No information is retained within VyprVPN server logs.

What data is retained on local clients?

By default, VyprVPN apps keep minimal, non-personally identifiable application logs which are stored locally on the client device. By storing logs locally, the user has the control of whether to send these logs to VyprVPN. These types of logs are useful to VyprVPN to repair app bugs, but we’ll never collect this information without user consent.

Furthermore, the client’s VPN connection record can be disabled within the Settings menu of VyprVPN apps.
